The Technology Behind the Mission.

 Laurie Westberg, Chief Information Officer, began writing code for GEMCOR in 1996. Today she serves as the company’s CIO, holding a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Governors State University. Throughout her tenure, Laurie played a pivotal role in transitioning GEMCOR to full automation, helping shape the technological backbone of the organization. She oversees all computer operations and systems related to GEMCOR's proprietary TEAM and TRAX Software Applications, ensuring seamless functionality and innovation. 2026 marked Laurie's 30th anniversary at GEMCOR. She truly powers our progress! 

In addition to her programming expertise, Laurie also manages all hardware systems, phone infrastructure, remote access capabilities, and data backup and security operations. She is proficient in VB, .NET, and C++, and she has been an “A+” asset to GEMCOR from day one. Laurie is deeply committed to making sure every team member is functionally "Having a Great Day at GEMCOR" - every day! #HAGDAG 

Outside of work, Laurie enjoys spending time with her grandkids, golfing, and caring for her plants. She finds her role especially rewarding because of the constant challenges posed by evolving regulations in the industry. Her coworkers describe her as driven, tough, and dedicated—qualities that shine through in her prompt and reliable approach to client service. She starts each day with her favorite ritual—coffee and silence—setting the tone for focused and productive work.
